Our History

Salaf Al-Saleh Centre for Charitable Work was established in 1423 AH (2003 AD) in Tamale, Northern Region of Ghana, through the cooperation with the Department of Mosques and Charitable Projects in Riyadh. Our founder, Sheikh Zakaria Omar Abdullah, envisioned a center that would spread authentic Islamic education while serving the practical needs of our community. Since our inception, we have grown steadily, now serving 350 students daily with a faculty of 9 qualified professors. Our graduates have studied at prestigious institutions including the Islamic University in Madinah, Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, and the Islamic University of Niger.
